About

I see you’ve landed on The Couch Investor.  Glad to have you here.  Here’s a little about myself:

On the personal side of things, I’m married with one child who I’ll call Baby K for this blog :) She’s a beautiful little girl and I am trying to build up my passive income not only for myself, but for her to use after I die as well.  Uh, hopefully with any luck that won’t be for a long, long time.

I worked for years as an IT analyst in a major bank within Canada.  While it paid well, it definitely wasn’t the type of job I was looking to do for the rest of my life.  Actually, in my head I didn’t want to work for the rest of my life anyways.

I quit my IT job in 2004 and haven’t looked back.  Spent a few years dabbling in website design as a business and made okay money there but only enough to survive.  Definitely not enough to invest anything anywhere.  I took on a job in the financial industry and am making decent income from that which I have just recently started to invest into income-producing assets.

At the moment I’m not making much but I plan to change that over time and want to bring all my readers with me.  I figure if I can do it, anybody can.  I’m pretty lazy and don’t like to do more work than I need to.

I am by no means a professional.  I don’t have a CSC even though I worked in a bank yeaaaaars ago.  So though these methods may work for me, you still have to do your own research and exercise due diligence before making any investments! I’m not responsible for the choices you make in your life … so don’t go blaming me if you don’t do any research before dumping money into something.

In the meantime, look at my articles and bookmark this site.  Check back often for updates and I hope you enjoy reading what steps I’m taking to becoming financially free!
